I’m not sure I have signed up for a social media site where I haven’t met or chatted with somebody I guess I might say I have an admiration for. I’ve had the pleasure to B.S. with the author of The Game and Emergency, Neil Strauss on Twitter, Missi Pyle on Facebook (who is obviously not personally managing her FB anymore), and a couple others from other sites. But most recently I had a fun lil run in with DJ DRC on Soundcloud. I’d say I probably started listening to dance music in ’95/’96 and cassette tapes were actual things we used to listen to music back then. I remember one of my first tapes was DRC’s Inbetween Worlds, and she was kind enough to send me mp3′s of 3 demo’s and permitted me to share them here. Also, being a Seattleight, I’m excited to see that she’s compared to Donald Glaude (dude…MySpace!?) on her DJ List profile who represents J’s T-Town (aka Tac aka Tacoma) here in the Northwest. But really, I’m just trying to come up with a good reason to post an awesome picture of him with Jenika (aka Jenika Breakbeat sometimes Housebreakin sometimes whatever the fuk Burton) and Shon (aka Frogger), and that’s the best I could come up with… :/ So, if you’re down with DG, and yet to get familiar with DRC, you’re in luck! DRC captivates all audiences wither she is most likely DJing or performing/singing LIVE as she did with Ars Nova (DRC & Chris Demetras) a few years back. Currently DRC is working hard in the studio with the talented DJ Denise/Mizumo Music. These two are a great team and have been making some serious noise together! In just a few years DRC & DJ Denise have quite the list of releases on labels across the globe, Top 10 chartings on djdownloads.com and multiple tracks licensed to CD compilations. You can also find some of DRC’s older releases featured in two music industry documentaries; “Vision of Vibe” with Carl Cox and “Intellect” featuring Paul Van Dyk and many others.
